Academic Trips

The next generation of forensic scientists was inspired yesterday as Year 6 spent the day at the Science Museum @Bristol.

They learnt about all sorts of tricks of the trade used by CSI officers in their attempts to obtain evidence to incriminate criminals, including chromatography, fingerprint analysis, moulding of footprints and careful observation down microscopes. Perhaps the most exciting aspect was extracting their own DNA and seeing clumps of it in a test tube.

They also had time to do things on the amazing interactive exhibits that there are throughout the museum. It really is a very exciting learning environment and the pupils had a fantastic day.
