Recycled Fashion Club Trip to The Hub, Yeovil

Prep Trips

The Recycled Fashion Club visited The Hub in Yeovil as part of our Eco Fest events.

We were shown a range of fabrics to identify the differences between natural and synthetic materials, with a chance to compare them and consider the properties of both. Then the shopping commenced, and what a deep dive into fashion potential it was! All manner of fabrics, trims, pom poms, elastics, threads, laces, tulles and flowers were unearthed from The Hub’s vast stock of donated, recycled, deadstock and reuseable supplies. All items have been saved from landfill and will now go on to be key parts of future looks designed by our budding fashion stars. Armed with potential, the club split into three teams and dressed mannequins in new outfits made from their newly chosen items. The final looks were amazing and a brilliant sign of the creativity of our pupils, as commented on very positively by the staff and members of the public.
