Reception Show Kindness to their Friends

It has been a rather warm week in Reception! The children have coped brilliantly and have compared the heat to how it might feel in Australia all the time – we have decided that air conditioning and a swimming pool would be great additions to our classroom. We had to make do with tough trays full of cool water to dip our feet into (which was nearly as good!).

In our literacy lessons, we have read the beautiful story Hunwick's Egg. It tells the tale of an Australian bilby who finds a very special egg, and they become the best of friends. It reflects our values of kindness and generosity, and the children have thought about all the ways they show kindness to their friends.

On Friday, we had the very special opportunity to celebrate the children and all of their super achievements this year (of which there have been so many) in our Prize Giving ceremony. Miss Coker-Harris and I could not be prouder of the children and all that they have accomplished this year.
