Year 7 Theology, Philosophy and Religion Day
Year 7 had their inaugural Theology, Philosophy and Religion (TPR) Day on Thursday. They showed fantastic critical thinking, teamwork and determination — all the more impressive given the heat. They enjoyed a carousel of workshops, all held in the cooler spaces of the school and in shaded areas outside.
In their houses, pupils explored themes from philosophy as well as the wider RE curriculum through interactive workshops on:
- What makes me ‘me’?
- What makes someone a good person?
- Why study the life of Christ?
- Why do people see the world in different ways?
The pupils listened respectfully to different viewpoints and reflected on their own ideas in light of new perspectives, discussions and debates.
After watching the film Miracle Maker, the pupils loved their opportunity to ‘Grill the Chaplain’ with Rev Bev — with suitably wonderful creative questions and answers.
