A Tasty Afternoon for our Year 3s!
A fantastic celebration of the Year 3 summer topic in French took place this week, as the children visited our very own Hazlegrove Glacerie in the woods.
The children played games, reciting and recalling different flavours of ice cream, and then practised a role-play with their friends. At the end of the afternoon, they each took it in turns to order their own ice cream at the Hazlegrove Glacerie and enjoyed their well-earned treat around the fire pit.
The summer topic in Year 3 is a real favourite of ours. The children have been using their French to describe beach paintings by different Impressionist artists and have been working on a cross-curricular project with the Art Department, creating their own painting inspired by Raoul Dufy, which they will describe in French and exhibit in school next term. Quel effort! We look forward to sharing some photos with you soon.
