On Monday afternoon four brave Year 7 mathematicians from Hazlegrove ventured across to Sherborne Girls school to compete in new maths problem solving competition.

The event was dividing into four rounds designed to test both their mathematical ability as well as how well they worked together as a team and how they adapted to a range of unfamiliar mathematical and logical puzzles. Some of the initial questions were easy enough but they quickly got much harder and by the end the questions were very stretching. So, it was really wonderful to see how sensibly our team applied themselves, showing really determination and imagination, and how well they work together.

A gruelling two hours of maths, but our intrepid mathematical ambassadors did us really proud.
