Nursery Children Enjoy Bug Fest

Our learning about mini beasts concluded with our special Bug Fest Day, and what a memorable experience it was for everyone involved.  We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and family members who joined us. The children were so excited to share their learning with you, and your support helped make the day even more special.

We began the day with an Ugly Bugly Ball ballet session before getting ready for our picnic lunch.  The children had the opportunity to meet some incredible creatures, including giant African snails, a huge millipede, vast stick insects and an enormous beetle. The children had to really concentrate and listen to understand which animals were just for looking at and which could be handled. Many of our grown-ups were incredibly brave too, with some even choosing to hold the tarantula! What great role models you all are!

We have also begun practising for our upcoming Sports Day. The children have been developing important physical skills by learning to weave in and out of obstacles, throw underarm, and respond to the "Ready, Steady, Go!" instruction.

All this is quite busy for the Nursery children, and it is lovely to be able to have quieter and more restful activities like feeding the rabbits and lots of snuggly stories.
