Year 4 Egyptian Afternoon
Last week, Year 4 took a deep dive into the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. The children stepped into the shoes of the great explorer Howard Carter and re-enacted the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, bringing history to life. They also created their own cartouches, carefully writing their names using hieroglyphics, just like the ancient Egyptians. Another highlight was the hands-on challenge of building their own working shadoofs. Partway through the afternoon, the children were treated to an engaging workshop all about light through the ages. A big thank you to Miss Gillow for her interesting talk and for giving the children the wonderful opportunity to see a real Ancient Egyptian lamp.
What a fantastic and memorable afternoon!
