Pre-School Explore the Grounds for The Faraway Tree
It has been a busy and exciting few days in Pre School following the bank holiday!
This week, the children explored a new “Letter of the Week,” focusing on the letter ‘g’. They enjoyed practising their mark making in their books and took part in a fun cooking activity, making delicious pastries using ingredients beginning with the letter ‘g’. The children were also very excited to help put our new oven to the test!
We were also delighted to attend the wonderful bike event. The children had great fun zooming around the course, with some showing off their impressive speed and confidence, before heading inside for a well-earned snack.
Story time has been especially magical this week as the children have been listening to The Enchanted Wood. They have enjoyed getting to know the characters and following the adventures of Beth, Frannie and Jo. We even discovered our very own “Faraway Tree” in the grounds, where the children have loved sitting beneath the branches to listen to the story while enjoying a special snack of freshly baked banana cake.
As part of our learning journey inspired by the nature book Slow Down, the children have been learning about ducks and how their powerful webbed feet help them move through the water. They have begun creating a large-scale painting of a pond, ready to add their very own ducks over the coming week
