Nursery Enjoy Feeding Baby Lambs

We are so proud of how the Nursery children are growing in confidence and beginning to take real pride in making positive choices throughout the day. It has been especially heartwarming to see them tidying up thoughtfully and caring for both their classroom and their friends.

Tortellini the tortoise, has been very well looked after! He has helped settle in the children when they say goodbye to their parents / carers at the door in return for copious amounts of delicious weeds and he even enjoyed an adventure out into the playground. These moments have sparked lots of curiosity and conversation.

The cycle event was a real highlight of the week. It brought the children so much joy, along with a wonderful sense of freedom, independence, and community . They embraced the experience enthusiastically and, afterwards all settled quickly back into the Nursery routine. Any little wobbles were gently soothed by Miss D’s beautiful lambs, who continue to be a source of comfort and fascination.

Having animals in Nursery brings so many rich learning opportunities. The children are developing an understanding of how to care for others, practising gentle hands, and building new language through meaningful conversations and imaginative storytelling. They are also beginning to observe similarities and differences, which provides a natural and accessible way to introduce ideas around the big topic of diversity and inclusion.

It has been a week full of growth, kindness, and joyful learning. The Nursery team is so proud of all the children.
