Year 7 have taken on an exciting artistic challenge this week, focusing on the skill of drawing faces in their art lessons. Tasked with using their own faces as a reference, pupils were encouraged to look closely at key features such as eye shape, hairlines and overall aspect and proportion.

This thoughtful and sometimes tricky exercise helped pupils to develop their observation skills and confidence, while also gaining a better understanding of facial structure. The level of focus and effort shown was impressive, resulting in some expressive and carefully considered work.

A fantastic start for Year 7 and a brilliant foundation for the artistic journeys ahead.
