Pre-School Dig For Worms

We have had a wonderful and exciting start to the summer term, with the children enthusiastically sharing stories about their holidays and adventures.

When the children arrived back in Pre-School, they were delighted to discover that our classroom had been transformed into a garden centre! This quickly inspired lots of hands-on exploration, with the children digging for worms, arranging flowers, and sharing their ideas about the plants and seeds they would like to grow in our outdoor garden.

As a group, we have been learning about Earth Day and enjoyed listening to the beautiful story Dear Earth. This sparked thoughtful discussions about how we can all help to look after our planet. It was also lovely to see the children confidently remembering the words and actions to a familiar song they first learned back in September, “Hello to All the Children of the World.”

Continuing our Earth Day learning, we explored the natural beauty around us and talked about the different plants that grow. The children closely observed bluebells and then created their own stunning bluebell artwork using mosaic tiles.

We have also been making the most of the sunny weather, enjoying bike rides on the tennis courts, spending a morning at forest school, and playing together in the grounds
