Year 1 Get Crafty for Eggstravaganza!
What a hard‑working, creative and successful final week of term we have had in Year 1! The children have shown fantastic focus, enthusiasm and teamwork as we wrapped up several exciting projects.
In maths, we tackled our new topic on measuring. The children quickly embraced the challenge, using rulers, cubes and other tools to measure objects around the classroom. They compared lengths and practised using new mathematical language with growing confidence. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity shine.
We also finished our very own storybooks this week. From planning characters and settings to writing sentences and adding illustrations, the children showed real pride in their work. Their imagination has been a joy to see, and we can’t wait for you to read their stories.
A definite highlight was our egg‑straordinary egg‑decorating morning. The creativity on display was fantastic; we had dinosaur eggs, alien kings, bunnycorns and many more wonderfully imaginative designs. The children loved showing their creations to each other.
As we head into the Easter holidays, we want to say a huge well done to all the children for their effort, progress and brilliant attitude this term. We hope you all enjoy a restful and happy holiday.
