Spring Concert 2026
Last week’s Spring Concert was an absolute triumph, a glittering showcase of Hazlegrove talent, teamwork and musicality. From Year 4 all the way to Year 8, our pupils filled the theatre with vibrant energy, impressive confidence and the sheer enjoyment of performing together.
The evening burst into life with Hazlegrove Voices: a fabulous group of Year 7 and 8 pupils (with some enthusiastic staff lending extra sparkle!). Their uplifting performance of “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield set the tone beautifully, with every performer clearly relishing the chance to shine.
Throughout the concert, families enjoyed a whirlwind of wonderful ensembles. The Flute Ensembles and Senior Strings played with characteristic poise and technical prowess, while the Brass Ensemble brought superb energy and brightness to the evening. Our mesmerising Guitar Ensemble were fabulous, as always, and the Year 8 Girls’ Band rocked the room with confidence and flair, a definite crowd favourite! Older pupils in the Flute Duet and the Year 8 Chamber Group showcased real musical maturity, performing with a sensitivity and sophistication that delighted parents and teachers alike.
A huge highlight came from our amazing Year 5 Choir, whose sensational performance of “Sing” absolutely lit up the hall. Their enthusiasm was contagious – you could see parents glowing with pride!
Our wonderful concert came to its conclusion with the Combined Choirs and Orchestra, who, joined by staff instrumentalists, delivered a stirring performance of “We Are Children of the World.” It was a truly heartwarming finale – a stage filled with pupils making music together, celebrating everything we value at Hazlegrove: kindness, curiosity, courage, teamwork, joy, confidence and community.
