Boarders Make Glorious Easter Bonnets!

Following our spectacular annual Easter Feast on Saturday night, the boarders awoke to glorious spring sunshine and a scrumptious full English breakfast, perfect fuel for the exciting day ahead. After breakfast (and a spot of letter writing), the children set off in their houses for an energetic Easter egg hunt. With two hundred chocolate eggs cleverly hidden around the grounds, competition was fierce and enthusiasm high. Once every last egg had been uncovered (and promptly enjoyed!), it was time for another much‑loved tradition: the Fox Trophy teamwork challenge.

Seven exciting activities were staged across the school, from golf to construction tasks to a fast-paced scavenger hunt. Each challenge earned the teams valuable points, though the results would remain top secret until supper.

All that racing around the school worked up quite an appetite, making lunch and a peaceful rest in the sunshine very welcome. Recharged and refreshed, everyone then gathered for a whole‑school game of Capture the Flag, complete with bases at opposite ends of the school site, with spirited involvement from both children and adults!

A warm weekend highlight followed shortly after: a visit from the ice cream man, who proved as popular as ever. Later, Rev Bev led a thoughtful chapel service, exploring what we can learn from Peter and reminding us that even in moments of failure, perseverance matters.

The children’s stamina never faltered throughout the day, and they were rewarded with a truly delicious roast dinner. It was an in‑weekend to remember, joyful, full of friendship, and the perfect way to end the term for our boarders.
