Pre-School Children Prepare for Easter
The Easter Bunny shop officially opened in Pre-School this week! There has been an abundance of bunnies hopping around the classroom as well as lots of wonderful Easter activities that the children have been busy making to decorate the classroom.
The children have been practising their counting skills; singing familiar number rhymes, counting in sequence, recognising their numbers and looking at groups of numbers, they all created a wonderful fishpond whilst singing the rhyme '1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive'.
In Literacy, the children have been looking at and sounding out each letter of their names which have been written on individual spring paper flowers. The children had to place each flower into the correct order to spell their name. The children love practising their letter of the week through games and writing in their special books.
Outside of the classroom, we have been having fun and making the most of the beautiful sunshine. We went on a lovely Spring walk to the Jubilee woods where we explored badger sets, bumble bees, the blossom trees and discovered new footpaths. We have even managed to enjoy our afternoon snack outside this week.
