Year 2 Visit Longest Yarn Exhibition
Our Year 2 class enjoyed a fascinating trip to Sherborne Abbey to explore The Longest Yarn exhibition, a stunning display of hand-knitted exhibits telling stories from World War II. The children were captivated by the intricate craftsmanship and the way each piece brought history to life through vibrant colours and textures. They learned how knitting was not only a creative outlet during wartime but also a symbol of resilience and community spirit. The visit sparked thoughtful discussions about the lives of people during the war and how art can preserve memories for future generations. It was a truly inspiring experience that combined history, creativity, and reflection in a beautiful setting.
