Friday Concert Week 9
Last week's informal Friday concert in the theatre was spectacular. The audience enjoyed a vibrant mix of solo performances that showcased the remarkable depth of talent within our Hazlegrove community. Whether the result of just a few weeks of lessons or many years of dedication, each performance was impressively accomplished and presented with maturity.
What made this concert especially memorable was the sheer variety of instruments on display. From woodwind and brass to strings and piano, the programme reflected the richness of our musical life. It was particularly exciting to see how many of these talented musicians have emerged through our specialist initiatives: the Minority Instrument Scheme, which has fostered players of instruments such as the clarinet and cello, and the Year 5 Brass Scheme, which has produced promising trombonists. These schemes are clearly making a real impact, and Friday’s concert was a shining example of their success.
The atmosphere throughout was warm, relaxed, and full of enthusiasm, a perfect celebration of music-making at its finest.
