James, the Vicar of St John’s Church in Yeovil, visited us to share his experiences of being a vicar. He answered lots of our questions and even brought along his formal robes for us to see up close. The children really enjoyed trying them on and learning about the different colours and meanings behind them, as James explained how they are used in special services.

We learnt so much about what a vicar does day to day, as well as how the church supports the community in times of celebration and need. It was wonderful to hear real stories that brought our learning to life.

The visit has sparked lots of curiosity and discussion, and we’re now really looking forward to continuing our work on Christianity with a deeper understanding.
