This week, Year 7 have loved learning about a French street artist called Invader. His ceramic mosaics are inspired by legendary 1970s video games such as Space Invaders and Pac Man! Invader's work can be seen extensively around the streets and buildings of Paris, but also in many other locations around the world. After watching a short film about the artist, pupils were given a choice of pre-gridded cartridge paper and researched the type of image they thought would work well in pixel form.

There were plenty of original ideas and bold, vibrant results. The classes really connected with this fun way of working and this project could definitely be extended into making actual mosaics in the future.
