“Meerkat Mail” by Emily Gravitt took Year 1 on a walk around the school with an adventurous little meerkat called Sunny who left his sandy burrow in the Kalahari Desert in a quest for a new home! He loved his tour around the school with the children who then wrote postcards home to Sunny’s family telling them about his adventures. In maths, we recapped days of the week before moving on to add 10/20/30/40p to amounts of money. In Science, we loved investigating micro habitats outside in our beautiful grounds and woods and began to paint beautiful African sunsets in Art ready for silhouettes next week.
