Boarding Week 8

Spring sunshine and spring animals were the theme of the weekend, with the go-kart track transformed into a mini farm thanks to a visit from the wonderful Twinnies Petting Farm in the afternoon.

We had a leisurely start to Sunday with a pyjama breakfast, which seemed all the tastier wearing slippers and dressing gowns, giving the boarders some much-needed downtime after a busy week. The morning's activities included all sorts, from an epic hockey session to a nail bar in the art room with freshly stocked colours and glitter for the boarders to get creative. There was also an ad-hoc but no less competitive 'Spain vs England' cricket match among the Year 7s and 8s, scored with great attention to detail! Face painting was enjoyed in the sunshine, while an ever-popular, all-out Nerf battle was waged in the Sports Hall.

After lunch, rest, and reading, the much-anticipated lambs, baby kids, alpacas, and adorable 'Dinky' the miniature Shetland pony arrived in the afternoon. The mini farm completely enraptured the boarders, which was just lovely to see. Each tyre of the go-kart track seemed to have a boarder perched on it, holding a guinea pig or goat or walking alpacas around it - a rare treat and proper soul food!

Chapel, letter writing, and a Sunday roast gave the boarders a peaceful finish to a wonderful, sunny Sunday.
