Year 4 Visit Somerset Rural Life Museum

Year 4 had a fantastic day at the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury, made even better by the beautiful sunshine! The trip was a wonderful opportunity to step back in time and learn all about Victorian life in rural Somerset.

The children took part in two engaging workshops—one where they tried their hand at making a traditional rag rug, and another where they cooked delicious drop scones in an old farmyard kitchen. Year 4 had a real taste of how people lived and worked in the past. As part of the experience, the children also had the chance to dress up as Victorians, which made their journey into history even more immersive and exciting!

A tour of the museum provided fascinating insights into rural trades, daily life at home, and the stark contrasts between the rich and poor. The children also completed a fun quiz, testing their knowledge on everything they had discovered throughout the day.
