Speech and Drama Showcase 2025
This year’s Speech and Drama showcase, held in the theatre on 4 February, featured thirty-four two-minute Acting, Devised and Mime performances, reflecting our amazing scholarship and LAMDA results. Of these, over twenty imaginative scenes were devised and directed by the children themselves with twelve acting pieces including classical scenes from ‘Pygmalion’ by George Bernard Shaw, ‘Little Women’ by Louisa May Alcott and from the Tudor period, Lady Jane Grey imprisoned in the Tower of London.
Once again, the Showcase featured a diverse range of moods and styles, with clear, confident performances by all of our actors, who all demonstrated tremendous skill and conviction.
I would like to thank all the Hazlegrove staff who made this event possible and to all parents for helping the performers with their lines, costumes and for being such a supportive audience during the performances. A big ‘well done’ to all performers – all of whom love performing on stage and are a joy to teach!
