Reception Begin Jelly Baby Rescue Mission

Reception have been on a mission this week to rescue the frozen Jelly Baby family from the clutches of the ‘Evil Freezer’. The children designed their first scientific experiment and then tested out their ideas. Warm water and placing them on the radiator were very successful methods however, microwaving for 4 minutes did not have such positive results for the jelly babies!

Ambulance sirens could be heard with alarming regularity on Wednesday morning outside the Reception classroom, but not to fear, all was well. Mrs Chalke, from the South Western Ambulance service, gave the children a fantastic insight into her role as a paramedic and the children then had the opportunity to explore the ambulance and have a go with the pieces of equipment, bandages and stretchers! In class, we discussed how the Emergency services are real life superheroes, swooping in to save us when we are in trouble. Another super week in Reception!
