The Whole School Produce a Wonderful Display in Fitzjames

Every year, to get the creative juices flowing, we start by having a whole school writing task and display as many entries as we can in the Fitzjames foyer.

This year, we decided upon a task inspired by a dream sequence in Kate Atkinson’s “Behind the Scenes at the Museum.” We gave the children the first sentence and they had to continue into the realms of dreams. This year we had a bumper offering of spectacular and beautifully written and imagined dreams: everything from enchanted forests, empty cityscapes where only echoing footsteps could be heard, worlds without light, and journeys down the plughole! It was a delight to read and display them!
