8S get a taster of what it would be like to be homeless

Last Friday, 8S had a taster of what it would be like to be homeless by sleeping rough on the streets of Hazlegrove.

They ‘enjoyed’ a supper of soup and bread and then spent some time around a fire in the woods before braving the elements and settling down for the night with their sleeping bags and cardboard.  It has been a valuable exercise in raising their awareness and empathy for those without shelter. They have also been at the de-registration hut talking to parents and pupils about their experiences whilst trying to raise some money for St Mungo’s, a charity that supports the homeless.

Thank you for all your donations.
