Year 5 Work on Lino Printmaking This Week
Year 5 will be trying out the lino printmaking process this term, and 5S have made a superb start with their designs! Pupils have studied the distinctive style of art produced by the Ndebele people of South Africa and created their own designs using a limited palette of three colours plus black. They have learnt how to transfer their designs onto a block of lino and are now underway with the cutting and printing stages.
Pupils will be following the reduction method of lino printing, gradually building their colours from light to dark. They are working diligently and are loving the satisfying process of gouging and inking the lino.
We look forward to posting images of the finished prints!
