Nursery Enjoy Exploring Facts About Polar Bears
As ever the nursery children are full of curiosity, creativity and adventure! We wouldn't have it any other way!
The children have now completed their Winter Wonderland topic, and we are delighted to share that their work is proudly displayed for everyone to reflect on and enjoy. The children love talking about their creations, remembering how they made their diverse polar bear process art, to their colourful wax-resist bobble hats, and even their enormous life-size polar bear feet, which sparked lots of excitement and laughter when measured against their little feet!
The children have learned some facts about polar bears that are meaningful to them and they can understand. They discovered that polar bears have black skin under their fur and special bumps on their feet to stop them slipping on the ice. It has been lovely to hear the children confidently sharing this new knowledge in their own words.
During Forest School, we played a funny and energetic game called “Woolly Worms”, where the children hunted high and low to collect food to feed the birds. There was even a "Superworm" in the mix! This linked with learning about habitats and the big birdwatch and gave the real worms a week off, because what is more exciting than digging for worms!!
