Year 2 Explore The Great Fire of London with Mr Stok

This week, we’ve been thoroughly enjoying our exciting new topic: India! From discovering where India sits on the world map to looking at life in an Indian village, the children have been full of curiosity and brilliant questions. We’ve already started exploring traditional stories, music and art, and the children are looking forward to learning even more as the topic unfolds.

We also had a fantastic hands-on workshop all about The Great Fire of London with Mr Stok. The session brought history to life with a wide range of real and replica artefacts for the children to examine. They were able to handle tools, household items and materials from the period, deepening their understanding of how people lived in 1666 and how the fire spread so quickly. The workshop sparked great discussions and helped the children imagine the sights, sounds and challenges faced during the event. It was a wonderful opportunity for active learning, and the children were thoroughly engaged from start to finish.
