Pre-School Get Creative With Winter Theme

With safety goggles on, Pre‑School took part in an experiment to create snow crystals. The children stirred bicarbonate of soda into warm water until it completely dissolved, and then placed string between two jars for the crystals to grow along. They have all made predictions about how long they will take to form, and we now patiently wait to see. The children’s predictions range from five to one hundred days, and we will spend the next few days logging our findings.

We have continued enjoying our chapter book Muggleswick Wood. The children have listened very carefully to the stories, getting to know the characters, and have been able to recap where we left off the previous day. Our letter of the week is ‘T’ and we have had fun with lots of letter games, learning the sign for ‘T’, and cutting and sticking the stripes onto their tigers.

Within the classroom, the children have been enjoying our winter theme, sledging and skiing around the room before heading back to our winter lodge for hot chocolates and cosy stories. The Proud Cloud has been popular this week as we continue to place more of the children’s photos from their Christmas holiday adventures. The children have loved sharing their stories with their peers, as well as hearing about others.
