Year 1 Shine on Stage

What an exciting and magical week it has been in Year 1! Our classrooms have been filled with sparkly stars, dancing shepherds, and singing angels as we prepared for our wonderful Nativity performance. Every child shone brightly on stage, and we are so proud of their confidence, teamwork, and sense of fun.

Alongside rehearsals, the children have been busy in English learning how to write letters correctly as they composed their own messages to Father Christmas. They practiced starting with a greeting, writing in full sentences, including polite requests and questions, and signing off properly with their name. It was lovely to see their creativity and festive spirit come through in their writing.

In Maths, we explored the world of shapes, sorting and naming both 2D and 3D shapes while learning about their properties. The children identified squares, rectangles, circles, and triangles, as well as 3D shapes. Why not try a shape hunt at home and see how many different shapes you can spot around your house?

We are so proud of our Year 1 children for their amazing Nativity performance. What a wonderful way to start the festive season!
