Thinking Outside the Box Maths Challenge
This week has been our special Thinking Outside the Box maths project week, and all the maths classes, from Year 3 to Year 8, have been working extremely hard, producing some truly amazing maths projects. This year, it has been the ‘Young Entrepreneur Challenge’, where a generous benefactor has offered to invest £120,000 in the most promising business proposal for a new small-scale business based here in Somerset.
The children have been working in pairs, producing fantastic spreadsheets, booklets, pamphlets, posters and PowerPoints based around their own new, and hopefully lucrative, business ideas. From gardening services to pottery parties, from mountain bike repairs to selling sporting merchandise. They have been incredibly creative and resourceful in their efforts to ensure that their business stands out from the crowd and wins the investment.
A superb effort from all of the children and a really fun way to stretch them mathematically as we near the end of the term.
