Rev Bev Visits Year 7 and 6

It was a delight and honour to hear and answer some superb questions about Christianity from the Year 6 pupils. Gathered together in the Theatre, they quizzed me on everything from the origins of the Bible, through to what Christians believe about baptism, heaven and the creation of our world. It was great to answer some more personal questions: what’s my favourite book of the Bible? Who other than Jesus is my favourite person in the Bible? Why do I believe in God? What was clear is that these Year 6 pupils have learnt heaps in their lessons and have been engaging in deep and meaningful thought. It was a really fun, lively and fascinating Q&A.

After this, I was delighted to join the Year 7s with Mrs Hughes and Mr Farquar to see some of the recent projects they have been doing. Again, the standard was incredibly high, and it was impressive to see some thoroughly creative projects and seriously strong writing. This then flowed into a revision tips session where pupils engaged in some new revision strategies to help them prepare for their upcoming exams. There was a real buzz in the room as the pupils embraced a myriad of ways to memorise some crucial facts.

All in all, it was an ace afternoon where the Hazlegrove Year 6s and 7s demonstrated what an inquisitive, articulate, and academically excited group they are. Well done!
