Year 1 Feel the Christmas Magic

What a wonderfully creative week it has been in Year 1! Our classroom has been buzzing with innovative ideas as we imagined new characters for Plop the Owl to meet. Plop met some extraordinary friends along the way, a wolf who calls the dark “mega” because he can howl at the moon, and a spider who believes the darkness is “magical” because her web glows at night. The children’s storytelling has been full of imagination and originality, and we couldn’t be prouder of their inventive thinking.

In Maths, we have been working hard on addition and subtraction, tackling challenges and solving problems with growing confidence. It has been fantastic to see the children persevere and celebrate their successes.

Our artistic talents have shone brightly too. We completed our Van Gogh-inspired Starry Night masterpieces, and the results are simply stunning, swirling skies and glowing stars that capture the magic of the original painting. In Science, curiosity led the way as we explored shadows, creating our own and experimenting to see how light changes their size and shape.

To top it all off, the highlight of the week was our Festive Friday and Rudolph Run. Laughter, energy, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic made it a day to remember!

We are so proud of everything Year 1 has achieved this week!
