UK Parliament Week in Social Science

Inspired by UK Parliament Week, our Year 7 and 8 Social Scientists put their political hats on and took part in a carousel of quick‑fire parliamentary activities. They dived straight in, quickly allocating their own government budgets before moving on to writing Prime Minister’s Questions based on this week’s headlines. Other activities involved debating a range of topics before casting votes in their own ballot box. Finally, they role‑played as different Ministers, designing and then defending their policy decisions to avid journalists. It was a quick whizz through democracy and decision‑making — what a joy to see the creative ideas sparked and the mature discussions taking place.
