Nursery Enjoy a Christmas Story

We have had a wonderfully festive week in Hazlegrove Nursery as the children have begun preparing for Christmas! The classroom is now sparkling with decorations the children helped to create and hang and hopefully you can see our festive windows at pick up and drop off.

We have also been learning about The First Christmas. The children have been introduced to the story of Mary, Joseph, and the birth of baby Jesus, and they have especially loved hearing about the big sparkly star that guided the Kings and magical angel that spoke to the shepherds.

To support their understanding of the story, we explored several different sets of nativity figures. It has been delightful to see how the children use these figures in their own storytelling, beginning to act out their own version of the Christmas story together. We have also been enjoying some festive music together learning some Christmas classics such as “Little Donkey”, and we’ve had great fun dressing up as Kings, Sheep, and Angels to bring the nativity story to life. Their enthusiasm and imagination have made this a really magical week.
