Reception Enjoy Stories by Candlelight
Stories by candlelight this week for the Reception classes! The children enjoyed a very special story time on Monday morning when we read Can’t You Sleep, Little Bear? by Martin Waddell. We discussed how light makes us feel and decided our night lights give us a sense of calm and safety when we are worried about the dark. In our artwork, we made our own dreamcatchers and enjoyed the story of their origin, understanding that good dreams and happy thoughts would come through them. We have continued our work on partitioning numbers in maths this week, and the children have been introduced to part–part–whole models, finding different ways to make numbers to 10. The flurry of snow on Wednesday morning sparked a great deal of excitement and made us start to think about Christmas! We have been practising our songs for the Nativity and are starting to feel a little bit festive.
