The scent of freshly baked gingerbread filled the Pre-Prep this week as Year 1 had a wonderful time reading the recipe and using scales to measure out ingredients for the delicious dough. After decorating their creations, the children couldn’t wait to crunch into their tasty treats!

We also stepped into the world of storytelling by going through a magical mirror into the Gingerbread man tale, where the children asked the characters questions such as, ‘How did you feel when the Gingerbread ran away?’. They then wrote the questions in their books, making sure to use words like what, why, how, and when, along with a question mark.

In Maths, we’ve been exploring part-whole models to help us understand how to find totals and build our addition skills.

To round off an amazing half term full of learning, friendship, and fun, we celebrated Apple Day, a perfect end to a fantastic few weeks!
