Pre-School Find Signs of Autumn

Pre-School have continued learning about hibernation and how little harvest mice create their nests by weaving the materials that they find together. The children then made their very own harvest mice puppets all nestled up in their cosy nests. They have been raking up leaves in the classroom taking care not to disturb the sleeping hedgehogs underneath.

We then headed out on a nature scavenger hunt around the grounds looking for all signs of Autumn, a pumpkin patch, golden leaves and conkers. The children made marks next to their pictures as we found them. The children also used the Autumn leaves to make little leaf people by threading the leaves that they had found onto sticks.

In numeracy, the children painted a pumpkin patch, counting in sequence and recognising their numbers as they printed pumpkins onto their paper.
