Year 7 Geography Case Study

Year 7 are investigating the eruption of Mount St Helens in 1980.
We began the lesson with a murder mystery question: Why did Harry R. Truman die? The detective skills of 7P3 quickly got to work and discovered that it was a volcanic eruption that claimed his life!

This led us into our new case study, where we explored what a pyroclastic flow is and why more explosive eruptions tend to occur at destructive plate boundaries. We then moved on to an activity revising the different types of plate boundary and the processes operating at each.
