We have loved hearing the stories about a Scottish girl called Katie Morag they offer a rich and engaging way to explore a culture, and storytelling. Katie Morag,  a spirited and curious character from the fictional Isle of Struay, provides a wonderful context for developing English skills through imaginative narratives, descriptive writing, and character analysis. Her adventures often touch on themes of community, family, and island life, making them relatable and meaningful for all the children. By reading, discussing, and creating stories inspired by Katie Morag, the children have been able to deepen their understanding of vocabulary, sentence structure, and storytelling techniques while also appreciating aspects of Scottish heritage and identity. The children also had a fantastic week exploring Science.
