Year 3 Fabric Collage
This week, Year 3 have explored making original seascape-inspired compositions using fabric and watercolour. Following on from their coastal paintings earlier this half term, pupils looked at the work of Cornish artist Alfred Wallis and learnt about his interesting life story. This helped inspire the simplified shapes and colours used on their collages. Pupils enjoyed selecting their own fabrics and worked mostly independently on cutting shapes and gluing them down with PVA. There were some lovely atmospheric, textured results, and a fun lesson was enjoyed by all.
Year 3 have been fantastic this year, full of vitality and positivity. Many pupils continue to do their own drawings and paintings at home, and it is wonderful when they proudly bring them in to show me! They can look forward to new projects in Year 4 and I know that some great work will be produced. Well done to all!
