Reception Visited Feltham's Farm
What a wonderfully busy and creative week it’s been in Reception! We were struck by a burst of artistic inspiration as we dove into the delightful story "The Koala Who Could". The children were captivated by Kevin the Koala’s journey and used charcoal to bring their own koalas to life. Their drawings were full of character and emotion, just like Kevin himself, and we couldn’t be prouder of their expressive artwork.
Then came our exciting trip to Feltham’s Farm, and what a day it was! Although the sun was unfortunately not shining, the children still enjoyed getting stuck into life on the farm. The children could not contain their enthusiasm when they were given the opportunity to feed some very friendly pigs and 12-week-old piglets and some very cheeky sheep.
We also loved getting the opportunity to showcase our minibeast knowledge as we did some pond-dipping, looking out for the illusive newts. We left very lucky as we also got to taste some of the farm's homemade cheese and see how this is made. The children asked brilliant questions, showed great care with the animals, and embraced every new experience with enthusiasm.
