Pre-School Make Their Own Ice-Cream
This week we have been sharing the story, ‘Lucy and Tom at the Seaside’ and have created some wonderful story maps showing our recall of the story. It has been lovely to hear the story language used and some new vocabulary as children have recalled the story in their own words. We have been good listeners when taking turns to talk about our experiences of going to the seaside and the fun we have all had there.
On Wednesday, we had a very exciting morning when we made our own ice cream! We used double cream in a bag, which we placed inside a larger bag with ice and salt. We then spent quite a while taking turns to shake the bag and finally, after a lot of aching arms and wet hands our ice cream was created. We all had a spoonful with a few sprinkles on; the children told me it was “creamy” and “delicious”.
Using mixed media, we have been creating some sandcastles and adding lots of details such as flags, we have been practising our cutting skills using a range of different scissors to create changes to the materials.
