Year 2 Take a Victorian Trip to the Seaside
With the songs and excitement still ringing in our ears from the Summer Showcase, the children are looking forward to their break ready for the excitement of the second half of term. This week, we have been very excited by the visit from the inspirational Mr Stok, bringing history alive to the class. We all missed his visits last term, so it is great to see him again and his wealth of artefacts. Being able to see and touch many items such as clothing and belongings is vital to the children’s understanding of the Victorian era. It also helps the children see the progression of technology in the materials used to make the range of products we have on a day out to the beach. Understanding the significance of the stripes we see in many different objects connected to the seaside is also fun. The children loved the challenge of putting up a deckchair with lots of advice being given by those watching. A lovely way for us to finish this half of term. Have a great week, and see you all in June.
