Pre-School Work With Mixed Media
Pre- School have been patiently watching our cocoons awaiting the appearance of our butterflies but they are having an extra-long sleep so we are hopeful after half term we will see the new arrivals!
We have been exploring watercolour paints to create portraits of Jasper from the story we have been sharing and lots of children have demonstrated impressive painting skills. Their brush work and motor skills when adding details to their creations has been wonderful.
In the woods, we have been taking turns to roll a dice and then collect that many objects- the children were then asked to say how many one more or one less would be using the objects to help them where needed.
Matisse was our inspiration this week for creating some mixed media snails using torn paper and glue- the children used strong pincer grips to pick up each small piece of paper and place it with purpose.
Next half term, we will be exploring the learning theme of Summer through stories and poetry.
