Hinduism Workshop for Year 4 and 6
We welcomed back our Hindu visitors this week, who transformed our Sports Hall into an interactive Hindu workshop. Through engaging stories—where the children could act out various roles—our Year 4 pupils learnt about different deities and what each one represents.
As well as learning a dance, which many Hindus believe is a gift from Brahman, each child had the opportunity to dress in either a sari or a headdress and create real-life mehndi patterns. Krishna and Indra answered many of the children’s questions; the pupils were enthralled and learnt so much.
In the afternoon, the Year 6 pupils built on what they had learnt in Year 4, focusing on reincarnation, which they have been studying in their lessons. This session is a highlight of the summer term and is an experience the children always remember—full of exciting and memorable moments.
