Nursery Look at Zoo Animals

This week in Nursery we have been reading the story ‘Dear Zoo’. The week began with a mystery, as some various sized parcels were delivered during playtime. During the week, the children have been listening to clues to help guess what could be inside the boxes. One box was heavy, one was tiny and one said DANGER on the front, alongside others. The children used their knowledge from the story to help link animals to the various clues and were very excited to open them and find out what was inside towards the end of the week!

Elsewhere, the children have been learning new language linked to size, practicing ordering themselves and animals in height order and sorting animals into big and small piles. They have also learnt a new song called ‘We’re going to the zoo’ and have enjoyed singing it each day.

We are looking forward to continuing our jungle animal theme next week, where we will be taking a walk through the Jungle.
