This term in art, Year 7s will be tackling the challenging yet rewarding theme of portraiture. They have started by learning about the proportions of the head and the placement of facial features. Pupils will then create a pencil self-portrait, aided by iPad photographs of themselves and mirrors. Later in the term, we will be doing some printmaking, echoing the style of early twentieth-century German Expressionist woodcuts. This is going to be an engaging project, and I look forward to seeing some excellent outcomes!
